The CCDSC structure is based on the interdisciplinary nature of the organization. It includes several functional units and advisory committees as follows:
The president is leading the CCDSC is fulfilling its mission by enforcing democratic values ; engaging the external communities and ensuring that all the CCDSC services and programs have the intended impact ; and promoting the CCDSC visibility and proven success in the global science and culture dissemination horizons.
- Board of Directors
The major role of directors is effective strategic guidance to advance the CCDSC’s mission through identifying strategic themes , fitting resources to opportunities , minimizing barriers and external threats and reaching out to stakeholder groups. In addition, the board of directors is committed to generating, implementing and sustaining innovative programs and relies on strong volunteers and staff management practices supported by strong situational leadership.
- Executive Director
The Executive Director manages the day-today activities of the CCDSC according to strategic and operational plans to fulfill the CCDSC’s mission. He/She oversees different functional units and liase with the Board of Director, as well as representing the CCDSC with the President in national and international events. The Executive Director is responsible for setting annual performance goals.
- Ad Hoc Committees
The CCDSC’s Board of Directors establishes ad hoc committees to address specific issues as needed. Established Committees cease to exist automatically whenever a new board is elected.
- Advisory Committees
Advisory committees’ role is to advise and advocate and are not designed to make managerial decisions. There are three permanent advisory committees to the board:
- Policy Support Committee
- Programs Development Committee
- International Relations Committee
- Programs Development
